  I live in an old 'government green' freestanding house built in the 70s. There was some loose fill fiberglass insulation in the roof which was patchy at best. I got Alexander Watson to go over the top of it with fresh cellulose insulation. I also got them to put in cavity wall insulation.

  The installation was painless for us, it was all done externally through the tiles in the roof, so we didn't have to be at home when they did it.

  There was an added cost of an electrical inspection prior to installation (included in the quote) which we were told was a legal requirement. Jeremy said we could use our own electrician, or we could use their guy. We got their guy, Nick, who was a good bloke, and professional, and we're even getting him back to do some other unrelated electrical stuff around the house.

  Jeremy assessed the best insulation approach for our home and the quote was very good value. We know this because we also engaged a qualified home efficiency consultant to advise us.

  We had our roof insulated with R6 cellulose spray by Alexander Watson during February 2017. The two installers were Jack and Chris, they did an excellent job. It was raining on the day so the insulation had to be brought through the house which made the insulation process more difficult. Jack and Chris were careful, respectful and we were delighted with the result. During the last hot weeks the insulation has performed wonderfully. Thank you so much.

  Removal of old and installation of new insulation no problem, but they've left rubbish all around the place and are now un responsive after receiving payment.

  I can highly recommend Alexander Watson for roof and wall insulation. My family's home is a much more comfortable place to be, and overall an excellent customer experience.

  Jeremy, who gave us the quote, explained all of the options and even gave us advice on windows and curtains (something they don't do, but had suggestions). There was no pushy sales pitch, and he had sent the email quote through to us before he left our house.

  Installers broke a roof tile and my security light but didn't tell me. Had to withhold payment to get thermal imaging done but even then they hid the bits they missed. Quote was 50% more expensive than JustRite.

  Without knowing much about the science behind it, I can say that my house is so much warmer than what it was. I have ducted gas heating, which turns itself on a lot less than before. The main thing that I noticed was that when I have the heating off during the day or overnight, the house retains the heat a whole lot better. Previously when it got to minus 5 degrees outside overnight I would find that first thing in the morning the house would be somewhere between 5 and 10 degrees. After the insulation has been put in, it now sits between 15-17 degrees... which means that the gas heating has to work less hard to get up to our preferred 22 degrees.

  We requested the quote on 14 May this year, Jeremy came and gave us the assessment and quote two weeks later and the insulation was put in a week after that. Not a bad turnaround for the start of winter. After the install Jeremy came back a few days later with his thermal imaging camera and found a small panel in one of the bedrooms that had been missed when they did the wall insulation. They came back and filled it a few days after that.
